This weekend Peter Donohoe will be performing two incredible concerts, one with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall and the other with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, where Peter will be reunited under the baton with his old friend Sir Simon Rattle.
The first concert, a Tchaikovsky Gala on Saturday 10th May, is with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. Peter Donohoe will be performing Tchaikovsky’s epic Piano Concerto No. 1 with their Principle Associate Conductor, Grzegorz Nowak.
Secondly, on Sunday 11th May, Peter will be performing in the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Benevolent Fund Concert at the Birmingham Symphony Hall under the baton of his old friend Sir Simon Rattle. Peter will be performing one of his favourites: Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.3. Donohoe and Rattle will be giving their services gratis in support of the CBSO Benevolent Fund, which exists to support CBSO players and staff, past and present, at times of ill-health or other hardship.
