Stile Antico‘s brand new CD with harmonia mundi USA, ‘From the Imperial Court‘, is already impressing the critics, with the disc receiving rave reviews, even before its release in the Autumn.
The New York Times has praised the ‘lucid and fresh-sounding’ ensemble’s ‘radiant performance’ of the programme of 15th and 16th-century works written for the European Hapsburg Court. The Buffalo News has said ‘[t]heir voices are seamless’ and ‘Stile Antico is at the top of the Renaissance a cappella scene’, calling ‘From the Imperial Court’ a ‘beautiful disc’. Audiophile Audition has given the disc 4 stars, saying ‘Stile Antico’s performances are big, gorgeous, and highly moving renditions’, and the Seattle Post Intelligencer has praised the group’s ‘expert vocal ability’.
‘From the Imperial Court’ will be released on harmonia mundi USA in early September, and is available for pre-order on Amazon.
