Graham Ross’s new recording of Shostakovich and Barshai Chamber Symphonies with the Dmitri Ensemble for Harmonia Mundi has been released in the UK today.
The disc has been released a decade after the debut performance of Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony Op. 110a, and includes the composer’s String Quartets Nos. 1, 8, and 10, re-worked as thrilling ‘Chamber Symphonies’.
The disc has already received a fantastic review from Gramophone Magazine:
“The rendition as a whole is nothing if not fresh and finely poised, the results are superb. Recommended.”
Graham has also given an exclusive interview to Presto Classical about the disc and the Dmitri Ensemble’s plans for the future.
