It’s just one month until Stile Antico bring their Shakespeare programme to the BBC Proms, the climax of the ensemble’s tenth-anniversary season – the perfect moment to map out the group’s ‪#‎Shakespeare400‬ journey…

Stile Antico Shakespeare 400

This year Stile Antico is marking the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare with a special programme, The Touches of Sweet Harmony, which combines settings of Shakespeare’s own words with music connected to his royal patrons and the great events of his lifetime. The programme features two special commissions of Shakespeare texts by composers Nico Muhly & Huw Watkins.

The tour of this programme takes the ensemble across the UK with performances at many of the UK’s finest music festivals including a performance at BBC Proms (the climax to Stile Antico’s tenth-anniversary season), to the continent and to the USA where they launched the programme despite record-breaking snow and blizzards in New York & Washington, DC.
