The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge, directed by Graham Ross, returned to the UK yesterday after an American tour that spanned 6 states.

The Choir gave 10 performances, visiting New York, Columbus (GA), Greensboro (NC), Raleigh (NC), St Johnsbury (VT), before moving west to Lubbock (TX), and finishing with four appearances in California. The concerts covered repertoire from Praetorius to Rutter via Byrd, Britten and Taverner. Audience reaction was overwhelmingly positive, as the Choir were met with standing ovations after every performance.

The Choir also had plenty of time for downtime: you can read about their activities in their tour blog, written by the students.

Clare College Choir’s Christmas season started with two performances Handel’s Messiah in Cambridge and London in early December, and it is by no means finished. They will give a concert tonight at St. John’s Smith Square, before heading north to a sell-out performance at the Howard Assembly Rooms in Leeds.
