The Piatti Quartet have released a new album, ‘Albion Refracted’, with Champs Hill Records.

Following a lineage of British composers, it paints a fascinating portrait of British quartet writing, (even Led-Zeppelin’s music is featured!) encompassing a broad emotional spectrum and championing classic British repertoire.

It includes two world premiere recordings:
Joseph Phibbs: String Quartet No.1 (Piatti Commission)
Mark-Anthony Turnage: String Quartet No.1, ‘Twisted Blues with Twisted Ballad’

Alongside works by Benjamin Britten and Frank Bridge.

Their previous release for Champs Hill (the complete Mendelssohn String Quartets) received rave reviews from Gramophone Magazine which praised their “perfect ensemble”.
