Stile Antico’s latest recording for Harmonia Mundi explores the theme of exile with works by Philips, Dering, Dowland, White, and Byrd: Catholic composers in exile from Elizabethan England, either physically or spiritually.

The album also marks the first time Huw Watkins’ setting of Shakespeare’s The Phoenix and the Turtle is recorded.

The GRAMMY nominated ensemble’s 14th disc is already receiving high praise from Gramophone, Classical Iconoclast, and The Sunday Times.

In a Strange Land is available from 11th January.
