Rebecca Miller performed her first concert with the Uppsala Kammarorkester in her new position as Chief Conductor on 5 September, presenting a programme of Louise Farrenc, Samuel Barber and Franz Schubert. The concert received excellent reviews, including 5*s from Sweden’s national Dagens Nyheter newspaper. Read the full review here (£).

The Uppsala Nya Tidning also commented that: “Miller has the ability… to get a relatively small ensemble like the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra to sound like a mighty symphony orchestra. Under her precise direction, the musicians let Schubert’s beautiful notes fill the concert room. Rebecca Miller gave the audience a promise and some homework. The conductor wanted to meet her audience and went out to mingle with them to hear what they liked about the concert. And the audience was instructed to each get three new subscribers to the orchestra’s concerts during the season. After Thursday night it should not be difficult.

Rebecca returns to the Uppsala Kammarorkester on 28 November.
