This evening, the award-winning Sacconi Quartet will perform one of the most emotionally demanding pieces in the repertoire – Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14 in C sharp minor, Op. 131 – entirely from memory, in almost complete darkness, at London’s Wigmore Hall.
This unique performance of this deeply moving piece is made even more profound by the absence of light, allowing for total focus on Beethoven’s extraordinary sound world.
‘Beethoven in the Dark’ is a project that the Sacconi Quartet have done for several years in many venues and in March they will perform it at The Al Bustan Festival in Lebanon.
