Throughout the lockdown Fenella Humphreys has been creating ‘Fenella’s Homemade Concerts’ to the delight of her fans. Each week she is performing two online concerts – ‘New Music Wednesday’ and Sunday, always at 5pm. You can catch up on her youtube channel. She has also created a new series of chats with other musicians from different sides of the industry, ‘Behind the Notes’ which is also available on her channel.
Forthcoming events include:
Today, Thursday 5pm BST: bit.ly/fenellaconcert9
4 short premieres, by Sarah Lianne Lewis, James Woodrow, Inmard Tinmard and Michael Small. Sarah’s piece is a partner work to her “Together Apart”, one of BBC Radio 3’s Postcards from Composers commissions which was premiered this morning. If you’d like a little introduction to the work they workshopped it last week can you can hear that at this link. Do listen in to support these fantastic composers if you can.
Sunday 24th 5pm BST: bit.ly/fenellaconcertEUCO
Fenella should have spent this week touring Vivaldi Four Seasons with wonderful EUCO, and her Sunday concert this week is for the orchestra. She’ll be playing a really fantastic programme of Ysaye, Bach, Paganini, some variations on Paganini’s 24th Caprice by a whole host of brilliant composers, and some Scottish fiddle music turned into a caprice for me by the wonderful Seonaid Aitken.
Sunday 31st will be for Absolute Classics, and will be on their youtube channel at 6pm.
She has also recorded a concert for Black Dress Code who have devoted a part of their website to an online concert hall. It is a subscription service, and the proceeds all go to support musicians involved.
